If I prefer not to cook, how do I handle food service?
Some guests who put on workshops or company retreats bring along a person to shop for and prepare meals, others bring food and cook communally. Or we can provide you with a list of catering businesses. There are good local people, as well as larger outfits in Santa Fe and Taos.
Which is the closest restaurant?
The nationally known Rancho de Chimayo, 9 miles from Truchas. They serve traditional northern New Mexico cuisine like green chile stew, fajitas, enchiladas, and burritos. They are open all week between May and October, and Tuesday – Sunday between November and April.
The next-closest restaurant is Sugar Nymphs Bistro in Peñasco, 18 miles north of Truchas. On their menu you’ll find salads, steaks, stews, and burgers, made with fresh, local, seasonal produce.
How far is Truchas Peaks Place from Santa Fe / Taos?
We are approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour’s drive from either city. The roads are very good and either route takes you past some of the most spectacular scenery in northern New Mexico.
How to I get to Truchas Peaks Place from Santa Fe?
Go North on Highway 84/285. Continue 15 miles to Highway 503 East. Turn right and continue 7.7 miles to CR 98. Turn left at the sign for The Santuario & Rancho de Chimayo and continue 3.6 miles to State Highway 76. Turn right and continue 8.2 miles to Truchas. Take a 90-degree left turn toward Taos. Which airports can I use?
Santa Fe Airport is closest but offers limited service. Still, it’s worth checking if your city is on its list of connections. Otherwise, Albuquerque International Sunport serves most major airlines. Albuquerque is 100 miles from Truchas, around a two-hour drive.
Can I bring my pet?
We are sorry to say that pets are not allowed on the Truchas Peaks Place grounds. If you believe you have a special exception, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your situation.
When is check-in & check-out?
Check-in: 4pm. Check-out: 11am.
What is your rental policy?
We ask for a deposit of 50% of the agreed rental fee within 5 days of making your booking and payment in full at the time of check-in.
For cancellations made 90+ days prior to your stay, the deposit is refunded in full, minus a $100 processing fee. For cancellations made between 30 and 90 days prior to your stay, the deposit is refunded in full, minus a $100 processing fee for each day of the cancelled stay.
Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to your stay are not refunded unless we are able to rent out the facility for the same dates, in which case your deposit is refunded in full, minus a $100 processing fee for each day of the cancelled stay.
